Audio Description and British Sign Language

This is theatre for everyone. Any time, anywhere.

Audio Description allows blind and partially sighted audiences to experience theatre. It is a live verbal commentary providing information on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds.

British Sign Language gives Deaf and hard of hearing people access to experience theatre. An interpreter will stand in a clearly visible position on the screen and interpret the spoken and heard aspects of the play.

Captions are similar to subtitling and gives Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people access to theatre. Captioning is also helpful for customers whose first language is not English and students who are studying the text of a play.
